I have been to Chicago for a couple of days, went to see my childhood friend Kishore. I had a great time, I have visited the Aurora temple (pretty impressive), it happened to be Sri Rama Navami and they were performing the Kalyanam, we couldn't stay for long but got a glimpse.
We then headed towards the downtown area, our first stop was the Sears Towers (been to Petronas in 2002), now I have seen the second and third tallest buildings in the world. The view was breath taking from the observatory on the 101st floor. The best part was the expanded downtown with lake michigan in the background (we were lucky was a clear day).
Then we took a guided tour of the Chicago downtown, was worth every penny we spent. We drove through most of the places (lack of time), the tour lasted for 2 1/2 hours. We got the best view of the downtown from the Planeterium, I was spell bound by the view, was pretty amazing. I recommend it to everyone going to Chicago.
Then we drove through the millenium park ($450 millon man that's too much for a park), then we went thru Navy Pier, Hancock Center, Water Tower Mall (BTW Oprah lives on the top floor), River front ........
We were starving by the time we toured the downtown, there was only one place that could satisfy our appetite - DEVON STREET. For a while I felt I was in India, there were too many places, we had CHOICE that day which was never heard off in smaller cities like Indianapolis. We decided to crash at Sukhadia's, nice place, good ambience and great food....
